Operations Coordinator, Margaret Murphy Retires After 27 Years At LGA

November 5, 2020

It is with myriad of emotion that we share that Margaret Murphy will be retiring from LGA in October. Margaret has been a very loyal team member of LGA; she is our LGA historian, a true professional who has contributed to its success in numerous ways.

Margaret has held many positions at LGA and played many roles. She was our first Director of First Impressions as well as one of our first administrators in Administration and Operations. She has always demonstrated hard work, honesty, thoughtfulness and has always honored her commitments to LGA. She has been instrumental in building the successful firm we are today!

Margaret has done it all…from championing the billing practices to processing of tax returns, to scanning, to processing annual reports, and her contributions’ list goes on, and on.

She was our founding Partners, Herb and Jerry and Sal’s right hand woman when he came on board back in 2002. She is our second longest tenured team member and longest non-partner for LGA!  More recently, Margaret has managed the processing of engagement letters, e-filing and championing the processing of all CPE certificates and trainings, while serving on many LGA Committees adding invaluable input. “I valued Margaret’s loyalty reliability and integrity above all. I trusted her with many Company issues long before them becoming public knowledge. She was privy to a vast amount of data, all with no issues at all. Margaret is “old School” and I valued her tremendously. She deserves a splendid retirement with all my best wishes,” says retired partner, Salvatore Muccio.

A noteworthy milestone in Margaret’s career at LGA was when she stayed until the very last hour to process tax returns on August 15th, went home, and gave birth to her son Alex on August 16th.  But be assured that all tax returns and extensions were at the post office timely – keep in mind this was all accomplished before e-filing!  Her attention to meeting deadlines has always been commended and respected and underscores her continuous dedication and loyalty to LGA.

“Being able to work alongside Margaret the past 17 years has been a gift I will always cherish.  She is that person that is always there to support her team in anyway needed without hesitation!  She will be missed more than words can say, Happy Retirement Margaret, I will be lost without you,” said LGA employee, Melissa Tremblay.

Margaret has always been willing to take on any additional responsibilities, has been very accommodating and has worked well with all LGA team members.  She has been noted for her professionalism in responding to all client requests. With more than 25 years of client knowledge, systems and building ongoing client relationships, she has been a true asset to LGA, and has often been referred to as our “Unsung Hero!”

Our Partners have relied on Margaret’s work ethic and welcoming personality and she will be sorely missed by all. Margaret, from your LGA family, congratulations on your retirement.  May it be all you want it to be and so much more!

“LGA has been very fortunate to have Margaret on Team LGA! Her dedication and devotion to both our clients and our team members during her 27 years is very rare in today’s times so to say we remain grateful for all she has done is an understatement that cannot adequately be put into words. She has left a special and permanent mark on LGA. We wish her all the best in the next chapter of her retirement,” said partner, Janine Danielson.

“I can’t believe it’s been nearly 24 years working together and all the years of your hard work and dedication to LGA is coming to an end. The strength of the foundation that you have laid within our administration team is a legacy and we’re truly going to miss you. Congratulations on a wonderful career, and best wishes for long life with good health and much happiness with Rick and Alex.  The best is yet to come!” says partner, Marci Cohen.

In conclusion, Margaret’s plate has been overfilled with all things LGA, and now as she begins this new chapter in her life, we truly thank her by wishing her good health and abundant happiness as she begins to fill her “retirement” plate.
