LGA Supports’ Cummings Properties Sustaining Grant Program

June 4, 2019

LGA is proud to support Cummings Foundation’s Sustaining Grants Program. The program provides additional support to grant winners who have received funding through Cummings’ $100K for 100 Program.

The Foundation hosted the Sustaining Grants Awards Night on May 2nd, 2019, where they honored 50 local nonprofits that were selected to receive ongoing funding of $20,000 – $50,000 annually for 10 years. “LGA volunteers played a key role in choosing the recipients” says Dennis Clarke, the Chairman and CEO, Cummings Properties.

Janine Danielson, CPA, Partner, and leader of the Outsourced Management Accounting, has been a program champion along with Robert Hart, Jr., CPA, MST and John Ead, CPA. They reviewed the tax returns of all the nonprofits. John Ead who has been involved with the initiative since the start in 2017, says, “Cummings Foundation is a blessing to the community and touches the lives of so many through its generosity. We are grateful for their commitment and are happy to do our part by assisting with their efforts!”

The initiative began in 2017, when Joyce Vyriotes, Deputy Director at Cummings Foundation had asked LGA to review their 990’s for the Grant Program applicants. They had found the review extremely helpful and wanted LGA to help assist the Foundation in its evaluation of the data for all the Sustaining Grant Applicants.

“LGA continues to be very honored to be associated with Cummings Properties and the Foundation in a number of different ways. We have been a long-standing leasing client for over 35 years, they are a valued client of LGA, and most importantly LGA supports Cummings Foundation through our volunteer efforts in both the $100K for 100 and Sustaining Grants Programs. It is truly an honor to be associated with an organization that includes an impactful leadership team and staff which provides a tremendous amount of value in all the “give back” that they do” says Janine Danielson, CPA, Partner.

“Cummings Properties is fortunate to have worked with LGA as a leasing client (for the past 35 years) and an accounting services provider for more than three decades. From the 401(k) audits it has conducted for Cummings Properties to the extensive pro bono financial data gathering and evaluating it has done for a major portion of Cummings Foundation’s annual $25 million grants program, LGA’s work has always been incredibly thorough. We look forward to continuing to work with LGA, and we highly recommend its services” says Bill Cummings, founder of Cummings Properties and Cummings Foundation.

We look forward to continuing our relationship with Cummings Foundation’s Sustaining Grants Program and supporting them and their philanthropy.
