January Firm Day: LGA Starting 2020 with a Bang!

A lot is happening at LGA! January Firm Day was a major success including three amazing guest speakers President and CEO of Scribe Media JT McCormick; Managing Partner of the RSM Boston office, Chris Makenzie; and COO and CFO of Digital Pi, Ari Milstein.

We welcomed seven new hires and celebrated nine promotions!

Susanne Friel will be taking on a new role as Director of Culture and Employee Engagement. Susanne has been with LGA for 5 years and has been instrumental in creating, building, and leading employee engagement. She understands that the key to a successful organization is to have a culture based on a strongly held and widely shared set of beliefs that are supported by strategy and structure. Without her leading these important firm incentives we wouldn’t be where we are today in culture and employee engagement.

Matt Touma, CPA and Jim DeCesar, CPA both were promoted to principal and co-managing directors of the firm’s assurance and advisory department.

Matt leads the private equity assurance and advisory team, leveraging years of servicing and advising owner-managed businesses. He brings a well-rounded skill set to his engagements, having managed both the A&A and tax compliance of his engagements with a focus on ensuring that the unique needs of each client are being addressed.

Jim is an accounting professional with more than 10 years of accounting experience in both the public and private sectors. Jim has been with LGA for two years and has been instrumental in attracting commercial real estate entities in need of audits and consulting in connection with financing, acquisition, and dispositions of commercial real estate. Jim has experience in a range of services from traditional assurance engagements, financial planning and analysis, outsourced accounting, and as a solution-focused project manager.

Jason Downey, Keira Souza, and Mitch Burke were promoted to Senior level positions. Dan Pare, Adam Shaker, and Shawn Christman were promoted to Manager level positions within their respected departments. These promotions recognize the contributions they have made to LGA.
