This year, more than ever we are all being faced with new challenges. Our LGA team is committed to making an impact on the people in the communities in which we work and live in. We are currently running three different “give back” initiatives to provide opportunities for our employees to choose one that works for them.
The American Red Cross has an urgent need for blood due to the COVID-19 pandemic and teaming up with them for their “Sleeves Up” campaign was the perfect way for us to do something simple that could have an impact on the lives of others.
“My reason for donating blood is actually two-fold. First and foremost, it’s a simple task that can potentially save a life. Moreover, I’m certain that the pandemic has kept potential donors away so the need for blood is high,” said LGA employee, Susanne Friel.
For the past few years, LGA has run an internal food drive in both our Woburn and Salem, NH offices for the Council of Social Concern in Woburn and the We Care Charity of Salem NH. We have chosen to do this again because of the critical shortage and number of people affected by the pandemic.
We are very proud to continue our annual support of the Youth Villages Holiday Heroes drive. The pandemic added a unique challenge to the way we donated but didn’t change our determination to assist an organization providing an amazing opportunity for us to make the holidays, of those less fortunate than us, a little more special.
“This year’s circumstances have increased the number of youth in need in our Holiday Heroes program by nearly 20%. Luckily, LGA stepped up to provide gifts and winter essentials to nearly TRIPLE the number of youth they have in previous years! I feel so lucky to have partners like LGA on our side to meet the needs of our families and young people who have been hit the hardest financially by the pandemic. You are our Holiday Heroes,” says Youth Villages Engagement Coordinator, Sarah Reilly.
