Kenneth D. Segal, Managing Director of LGA’s Business Advisory Services (BAS), was interviewed on the Legacy Podcast about his career in business advisory. The Legacy Podcast aims to inspire business owners to share their stories about their legacy in order to help others find their path.
In the latest episode, Ken was interviewed by host Paul Dio about his career journey and the lessons learned along the way. Ken shared that the biggest career risk he took was opening his own consulting business after multiple health scares and while still paying for three of his children’s education. It was a risk that paid off and ultimately led to Ken joining LGA and heading the Business Advisory Services team. By owning his own business, Ken shared that he can empathize better with clients since he has walked in their shoes and had to make those decisions that keep you up at night as a business owner.
When asked about a recent career win, Ken shared the story of helping a client who had been offered a deal to sell their business. He and his team determined it was not the opportune time to sell and that the client would be missing out on significant upside if they made the deal. He shared that it’s not only the deals you make that matter but also the deals that you do not do which will lead to your company’s success.
Ken shared that he enjoys helping his clients grow and helping to guide them through all stages of their businesses. He shared that part of his legacy will be building and coaching the members of the BAS team at LGA to continue helping businesses grow and prosper.
